BRUnet Volunteers

BRUnet, Brown's Career Network, is the BAA's online career networking program for alumni and students. Join today to become one of the over 3,000 alumni who volunteer for BRUnet and share your professional experiences and expertise through informational interviews.

Here are some key BRUnet volunteer guidelines to ensure that your experience is a positive one:

  • Once you complete your BRUnet Volunteer Profile online, your name and career information will be viewable to BRUnet alumni and student users.
  • Volunteers (and users) must have an e-mail address in order to participate in BRUnet. However, volunteer e-mail addresses are “hidden” from alumni and students during initial contact.
  • Students and alumni use BRUnet as a career research tool. Users identify volunteers who match certain criteria (field of work, company, geographic area, etc.) and contact them for informational interviews.
  • Volunteers decide whether to conduct these informational interviews on the phone, in person or via e-mail.
  • Volunteers may be asked a broad range of questions depending on the career experiences and expertise of the user.
  • For all BRUnet questions, please e-mail BRUnet@brown.edu.
