As of August 28, 2009, the Boldly Brown Campaign has exceeded its goal of raising $1.4 billion. This fiscal year, the Annual Fund is hoping to raise an additional $36 million from over 32,000 donors. Thanks to the generosity of donors like you, the Campaign has already had an impact in numerous ways including support for faculty, facilities and financial aid.
Our dynamic and inspiring learning environment began with our freshman year in 1987. Our alma mater has implemented a new Financial Aid policy in an effort to provide this same opportunity to students from a wide-array of backgrounds. This policy was made possible because of the success of the Campaign thus far:
• Reducing loan expectations for all students receiving financial aid
• Eliminating loan expectations for students from families with incomes of less than $100,000
• Eliminating parental contributions for most families with incomes of less than $60,000
The class of 1991 has played a key role in the success of Boldly Brown: Campaign For Academic Enrichment since its October 2005 kickoff. We have contributed $1.66 million to Brown’s most important priorities! It is clear that our class knows the importance of giving to the Brown Annual Fund as evidenced by our $1.25 million contributed since the Campaign kickoff
Brown understands the importance of leadership gifts but also emphasizes consistent giving. Our class had a 40% participation rate for our 15th Reunion— a higher rate than all of our peer classes. Further, every year since we’ve continued to hold the highest participation rate compared to our peer classes! Despite our success, we 91ers mustn't rest on our laurels. Let’s continue to be lead by example in generosity and in participation.
